- 28 man squad named for two-legged tie against Club Brugge
- All five new signings included
- David De Gea also included
Manchester United have name a 28 man squad for their Champions League play-off against Club Brugge. The tie will be played over two legs for a place in the Champions League group stage.
The first leg of the tie takes place at Old Trafford on Tuesday 18 August, with the return in Belgium on Wednesday 26 August. United have submitted their 28 man squad to UEFA.
Manchester United have included all five of their summer signings, after they all made their debuts in the Premier League opener this weekend.
Want-away goalkeeper David De Gea has been included despite manager Louis Van Gaal’s reservations about the Spaniards mental state following the continued speculation over his future. Should De Gea play in the tie and United win through to the group stages, then he will be cup-tied should proposed move to Real Madrid happen.
United have covered their bases when comes to the goalkeeper area, naming four keepers. As well as De Gea they have also named Lindegaard, Johnstone and Romero. Should Van Gaal decide against playing De Gea, then it looks like Romero will get the nod.
Also included are Phil Jones, despite report that he will be out for at least three weeks with mild thrombosis and Marouane Fellaini, who despite being suspended domestically is available for the Champions League.
