- Bayern could rival United for the signature of Southampton’s Sadio Mane
Less than a month till the transfer window opens again at the beginning of 2016. The rumours of Manchester United targets are growing by the day. We bring you the latest gossip surrounding ins and outs at Old Trafford.
Yesterday we brought the news that United may be preparing a bid for French under-20s striker Moussa Dembele, who currently plays in the Championship with Fulham.
United Eye Oxford
Today comes the news that United are interested in another young player, this time West Ham’s Reece Oxford. With reports that United are preparing a £8million January move for the England under-17 International.
Oxford has made six appearances for West Ham’s first-team this season, three in the Premier League and three in the Europa League.
He was a shock inclusion on the opening day of the season when West Ham travelled to The Emirates to face Arsenal. Oxford impressed as West Ham won the game 2-0. In that game he was used a defensive midfielder shielding the back-four. He can also play as a centre-back.
Oxford turns 17 later this month and then expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal at Upton Park but with United and several other top clubs showing an interest. How long will West Ham keep hold of their man?
Bayern Rivals For Mane
Southampton’s Sadio Mane is once being linked with a move to Old Trafford. Mane was originally linked with United towards the end of the summer transfer window. The word from Southampton is that United never made a bid for wide-man.
Mane is said to still on United’s radar, but if they want to get their man. United may face competition or Senegal International from Bayern Munich.
Following the speculation surrounding him in the summer, Mane had a slow start to the season but has once again started to show why Van Gal has expressed an interest in bringing him to Old Trafford.
It is believed that Mane is keen on a switch to Manchester but knows Southampton won’t sanction any move until the summer at the earliest. United may have to part with £40million to get their man.
