  • Manchester United agree £75million fee with Everton for Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United look set to complete their second signing of the summer after agreeing a deal with Everton for the signature of Romelu Lukaku.

It is be reported that the two clubs have agreed a fee of £75million for the transfer of the Belgium international striker.

Lukaku will undergo a medical with the club in the next few days and looks set to join his new team-mates on their pre-season tour.

United return to pre-season training on Saturday and will fly out to the United States on Sunday. With the first game of the tour coming against LA Galaxy on July 16.

Premier League Experience

It is believed that Lukaku was always Mourinho’s number one target this summer and a key factor in that is his Premier League experience.

Lukaku first arrived in the Premier League when joining Chelsea as an 18 year-old in August 2011. Struggling for first-team appearances at Stamford Bridge, Lukaku moved to West Brom on a season-long loan deal for the 2012/13 season.

Lukaku scored 17 Premier League goals for the Midlands side including a hat-trick in a 5-5 draw with Manchester United in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last game as United manager.

The following season saw another loan move, this time to Everton before signing for the Goodison Park side in £28million deal at the start of the 2014/15 season.

Last season we saw Lukaku scoring 25 goals in the league for Everton, only finishing behind Harry Kane in goalscoring charts.

The deal for Lukaku has seen United end their reported interest in Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.
