- Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of his contract in the summer
- Sport Bild are reporting a Manchester United player could be the reason for his exit
With Pep Guardiola decision to leave Bayern Munich at the end of his contract now being confirmed. There will be many theories as to why this decision has been made and what Guardiola next career move will be.
Sport Bild are reporting that a Manchester United player may be one of the main reasons why Guardiola fell out with the Bayern board and it’s not the one you may think it is.
No it’s not Bastian Schweinsteiger, the Manchester United player who may be at the centre of this dispute is believed to be Matteo Darmian.
The Spaniard is reported annoyed that the Bayern board didn’t back his move to sign Matteo Darmian. Which would have freed Philipp Lahm to play in midfield.
Instead of signing Darmian, it is believed the Bayern board favoured the move for Arturo Vidal, a decision which didn’t go down well with Guardiola.
Whether these reason are behind Guardiola’s decision to leave Bayern in the summer we may never know but speculation now turns where Guardiola will be working next season, if anywhere.
