Could Ramos Transfer Actually Happen?

With continued reports that Manchester United are interested in signing Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid, relations are said to have broken down between Ramos and Real Madrid President Florentino Perez.

It has long been acknowledged that David De Gea will leave Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer, but could Sergio Ramos move in the opposite direction. It has been reported that when Real Madrid have asked United for their price for De Gea, United responded by asking how much for Ramos.

This talk of United being interested in Ramos could, and most likely will be a ploy by his agent to get his client a better deal at Real. Ramos is currently in a contract stand-off with his current club. Ramos has two years remaining on his current deal. Ramos is said to be asking for 10million euros net a year, while the club are offering 7million euros.

Ramos is currently the fifth highest-paid player at Real Madrid, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Iker Casillas. Their offer of 7million euros and extend the length of his contract was made after Ramos scored goals in the Champions League final of 2013/14 and in the World Club Cup of 2014 as Real Madrid won both trophies. Ramos demands of 10million euros a year would put him on similar wage to that of Gareth Bale and make Madrid’s second highest-paid player.

It’s been reported that Manchester United are willing to offer Madrid 75million euros plus David De Gea, offering Ramos a five-year contract at Old Trafford worth 55million euros. Paying 12million in his first year, 11.5million second year, 11million in the third year, 10.5 in the fourth year of the contract, and 10million euros in the final year.

So it seems Manchester united are willing to offer Ramos more than he is asking for at Real Madrid, and it is believed that he has asked Madrid to listen to any offers for him as the stand-off between the two parties continues.

Will Ramos follow Angel Di Maria to Old Trafford and play in the red of Manchester United next season, or will this saga just end in Ramos signing a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and stay in the white of Real Madrid?
