The Premier League fixtures for the 2016/17 season have been released this morning. We bring you a rundown of the key dates for your diary.
Jose Mourinho’s first Premier League game in charge of Manchester United comes against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium (Dean Court) on August 13.
United’s first home game of the season comes against Southampton, with the game currently scheduled for Saturday August 20. The month of August will be finished off with a trip to Hull City on August 27.
The season will be finished with a home game against Crystal Palace on May 21 2017.
When the fixtures are announced, the first thing you may ask is when do United play City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea?
United v City?
The first Manchester Derby between Mourinho and Pep is currently scheduled to take place on Saturday September 10 at Old Trafford.
By the time the two sides meet against in February, both sets of supporters will hope to be challenging for the title. The game at the Etihad is scheduled for February 25.
Both these are likely to be chosen for TV coverage and though currently scheduled for Saturdays are likely to change.
United v Liverpool?
United’s first encounter with Liverpool with see United traveling down the M62 to Anfield in October, with game currently scheduled for October 25.
United will welcome Liverpool and their fans to Old Trafford in the second league of January 2017. With the game currently scheduled for January 14.
United v Arsenal?
Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger will come up against each for the first time in the 2016/17 season on November 19 when the Gunners travel to Old Trafford.
Mourinho will take his side to The Emirates Stadium at the beginning of May. The game will be United’s third to last game coming on May 6.
United v Chelsea?
Mourinho will come up against his former employers for the first time in October. When he will take his United side to Stamford Bridge on the weekend of October 22.
He will welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford in April, with the fixture currently scheduled for April 15.
Other Key Dates
As well as the games already mentioned, another key fixture that United fans look out for is Tottenham. United welcome Tottenham to Old Trafford on December 10.
While their trip to White Hart Lane will come on the penultimate weekend of the season, currently scheduled for May 13.
United will welcome defending champions Leicester to Old Trafford in the sixth game of the season, on September 24. With the return at the King Power Stadium coming on February 4.
The Christmas and New Year fixtures with see United having two home games and one away. With a home game against Sunderland on Boxing Day followed by Middlesbrough’s visit to Old Trafford on New Year’s Eve.
The first league fixture of 2017 will see United travelling to the Olympic Stadium for the first time as United face West Ham on January 2.
