Next Up West Brom – A Must Win Game

Finally after that tedious international break we finally have a Manchester United game again. We travel to West Brom on the back of two home wins against West Ham and Everton. This really is a must win game and we need to keep our winning run going ahead of two of the toughest games of the season against Chelsea and City.

West Brom away is always a tough game for anyone especially Manchester United because West Brom and their supporters always seem to be up for games especially against us. After all a victory against Manchester United is the highlight of a lot teams season and for some players the highlight of their careers. In West Broms last home game they beat Burnley 4-0 so will be looking for a another win on the back of that. Our last away game was the debacle against Leicester when we surrender a 3-1 lead to lose 5-3 but we’re not going to talk about that are we.

In the last five meetings between us and West Brom, we have three wins, one draw and one defeat. That one defeat came at Old Trafford last season and we have had three games that we won to nil, with two 2-0 wins and one 3-0 in the last five meetings. Also we had the 5-5 draw in final game of the 2012-13 season which of course was Sir Alex’s last game in management.

We finally look like our injury situation is improving with now only having four players out injured having gone into the international break with nine players out injured. So we may see the likes of Jones, Smalling and Herrera returning to the first team. I feel we may see two changes from the team that started our last game against Everton, with probably Jones coming in for the youngster McNair who impressed are centre back against West Ham and Everton but now appears to be injured himself. Also I think Herrera will come back into the Midfield in place of Valencia. Some of the other players returning from injury may have to settle for a place on the bench where I hope to see Carrick and hopefully we can get him some minutes before the Chelsea and City games.

Finally my prediction for this game is it will be a close game to start with, I can see West Brom started quickly and trying to unsettle us but think we will run out 3-1 winners in the end but we will have to earn the victory through a lot of hard work.
