Mata Feeling A Sense Of Deja Vu

  • Juan Mata says there is a sense of deja vu in the Manchester United dressing-room

Manchester United midfielder posted his usual weekly blog on Monday morning and talked about United’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

The draw with Bournemouth was a seventh home draw in the Premier League this season. Following disappointing draws with Burnley, Stoke City and Hull City earlier in the season.

Mata says there is a sense of deja vu within the Manchester United dressing-room. Once again United dominated possession and created the better of the chances but were unable to put their opponents away.

Manchester United enjoyed 69% of possession and created 20 chances compared to Bournemouth’s three but were unable to breakthrough against a Bournemouth side playing the second-half with 10 men.

“Unfortunately, we have that sense of déjà vu again. We played good football, we created chances, but yet again we weren’t efficient enough to turn that into a better score. We let two points slip away, that’s clear, and all we can do now is to look ahead because we are facing many challenges in just a few days.

As I always say, the good thing is that soon after a defeat you have an opportunity to make it up. Football doesn’t stop and it always gives you another chance to release your rage doing what you like most”.

Mata Focusing On Upcoming Games

Mata and his team-mates are now focusing on four games before the International break at the end of the month.

The first of those games sees Manchester United travel to Russia to face FC Rostov in the Europa League.

“The Russian side is particularly strong at home: this season they have defeated Bayern Munich and Ajax, for instance. That gives you an idea of how tough they are.”
