- Both teams come into the game with three wins out of three
- Mourinho has a fully-fit squad to choose from
Manchester United face their biggest test of the season as they host Manchester City at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola face each other for the first time in a league game since 2012 when they managed Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Both teams have enjoyed good starts to the season, collecting maximum points from their three league matches.
Mourinho has brought back the swagger for the Red Devils. A win in the derby will help United to lay down the marker early in the season that they are genuine title challengers this year.
On the other hand Guardiola has also enjoyed a good start to life in Premier League.
The Spaniard has integrated new signings into his squad and taken nine points from their opening three league fixtures. Guardiola has enjoyed the upper hand against Mourinho and will be looking to improve it on Saturday.
Mourinho admitted that he has a full squad for the derby. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has recovered from the knock which he suffered on international duty for Armenia. Though may not be fit enough to complete 90 minutes.
Luke Shaw was sent back to United midway through the break for precautionary reason is also ready to face City. While Fellaini has also regained complete fitness after suffering a back injury against Hull City.
Mourinho had suggested that the South American players will not be sharp for the derby as they will be back at the club one day prior to the derby.
Antonio Valencia was able to attend the training sessions as he came back early compared to the Argentine duo Marcus Rojo and Sergio Romero. The Argentines could miss the derby due to late arrival at the club.
We believe that Mourinho likely may make one change from the starting eleven which played against Hull City.
The back seven is likely remain the same with the back four of Valencia, Bailly, Blind and Shaw protecting David De Gea’s goal.
While Pogba and Fellaini are likely to continue as the midfield two.
There could be changes in the attacking front as the team will need pace on counter. Mkhitaryan could replace Mata on the right side of United’s attack. With Rooney, Martial and Ibrahimović all keeping their places
The Blue part of the Manchester has had a busy summer as Guardiola has signed players who could fit into his profile of play.
They have started dominating the game with possesion and control the game with precise play which the Spaniard demands.
The inverted fullbacks could be one tactical zone where United can exploit with pace of their wingers.
City are without Sergio Aguero as the Argentine has been banned for three games for his elbow on Winston Reid in the West Ham game.
Raheem Sterling could be the main man for visitors as the winger has reinvented himself under the new manager.
He has scored two goals and grabbed an assist in the league. On the other flank new signing Nolito can be a potent threat for United with his clever runs between the line and knack of scoring goals.
