Is De Gea Gone?

is De Gea gone?

Huzzy takes a look at the David De Gea situation, will he stay or will he go??

Is De Gea gone? Real Madrid love nicking the players we develop and turn into stars and De Gea could be the next one on his way to the Bernabeu following the likes of Beckham, Gabriel Heinze, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo. After an impressive performance at the Theatre Of Dreams against Everton on Sunday 5th October, speculation began of a possible transfer of De Gea to Madrid, something all United fans were dreading to hear.

The game against Everton wasn’t his only amazing performance, he saved us points against the likes of Liverpool, West Ham and Aston Villa. After several amazing performances and playing every minute of every game this season for us, The flying Spaniard limped off towards the end of the last home game of the season against Arsenal which lead to Victor Valdes, the six time La Liga winner and three time Champions league winner, to make his first team debut after signing for us in the January transfer window.

Whether De Gea is leaving or not has not yet been confirmed but I suggest you all get yourselves prepared for him leaving because chances are he probably will whether it’d be this season or next.  Good news is, De Gea was voted ‘Player of the year’ for the second year running and may stay another year to complete his hat-trick!

Personally, I think De Gea will stay at least one more season. Here’s why, Manchester United will have a massive overhaul over the summer and I believe, will be a dominant force in the Premier League and maybe even Champions League next season. As if Ander Herrera and Juan Mata haven’t done great things for us this season, they’re maybe doing us another great thing by persuading their Amigo, De Gea to stay another season. They are called three Amigos, why would De Gea want to leave this bromance so early? Also, us United fans are one of the best set of fans in the world and support our players no matter what, unlike Madrid fans who throw things at Gareth Bale’s car after a performance which is not upto his usual standard even though he helped them win the Champions League and Copa Del Rey last season. De Gea may see that and appreciate us even more and give us one more season of having a brick wall between the sticks. I mean, come on, we don’t even boo Jonny Evans.

However, some may disagree with me. Those who may disagree with me may say that De Gea’s family and girlfriend live in Madrid so De Gea will be eager to go and live in Sunny Spain with them.On the bright side, Louis Van Gaal did say in his latest press conference that he believes ‘De Gea will stay’. Would you rather play in the beautiful Theatre of Dreams in front of the Stretford End where the fans constantly chant your name no matter what or in front of fans who boo even their club legends? I know what I’d pick. I hope De Gea picks the same as me.

My question is, who do we sign to replace The Great Spanish Dave? Do we try to use the Champions League to lure Lloris from Spurs or do we get the cheque book out for Cech?
