- A number of players trained who are rumoured to be doubts for the game
Louis Van Gaal and his team are preparing for tomorrow’s crucial Champions League group game against PSV Eindhoven at Carrington this morning. It has been reported that up to ten players could be out of this game but only six missed the session.
Van Gaal was without long-term absentees Shaw and Valencia against Watford, while Carrick, Martial and Fellaini were all missing due to injury. Wayne Rooney missed the game due to illness. Whilst both Herrera and Jones were taken off in that game after suffering injuries.
In the last few days there has been reports that up to ten first-team could be unavailable for the clash with PSV. Whilst we will need to wait for Van Gaal’s press conference lately for an injury update. it is good news that several of the players said to be doubts have trained this morning.
Rooney, Martial and Fellaini have all been training with their team-mates at Carrington. Van Gaal did say before the Watford game that he expected both Rooney and Martial to be fit for the PSV game. Mata was also rumoured to be a doubt but he also trained.
Six players were missing from the training session. They were long-term absentees Shaw and Valencia. While Carrick, Herrera, Jones and Schweinsteiger were all missing from the training session.
A win for United over PSV at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, would see them qualify for the last sixteen of the Champions League.
