- Will Manchester United make any additions to their squad in January
- Felipe Anderson deal could be close
- Reported move for Swiss left-back Ricardo Rodriguez
Manchester United have started the year with two wins but it is evident that they need additions to their squad if they are going to challenge for honours come the end of the season.
Before the season started, United and Van Gaal left themselves with a threadbare squad. United need to make additions to their current first-team if their not going to come up short.
One of the areas for concern is the attacking areas of the pitch. Van Gaal has stated on a number of occasions that he wants to add pace to his attack. I don’t think you need to be an expert to see that.
Another area of concern is the defence. With long-term injuries to several players in the defensive areas especially to several players who can play in the left-back position.
Brazilian Felipe Anderson has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the summer. Speculation has intensified that United will make a move the Lazio attacker.
Reports in Italy claim that United may have made of bid of €50million (£30million) for the Brazilian. While we believe that talks may still be ongoing between the two clubs.
Ricardo Rodriguez played against United for Wolfsburg in this seasons Champions League and reports in Germany claim that the Swiss left-back is their number one defensive target for January.
Bild claim that a bid may be imminent from United. Rodriguez is contracted to Wolfsburg until the summer of 2019 but it is believed a bid of £30million would be enough to see the Swiss International move to Manchester.
United may not be the defenders only suitors though with Real Madrid also said to be showing an interest in signing him.
