Team News

Louis Van Gaal is going into this game with another injury blow to his backline. Matteo Darmian had to leave the pitch after a clash of heads against Southampton.

That has seen the Italian ruled out of this tie, with Van Gaal saying the injury isn’t too serious and the player himself tweeted that he was ok after the clash.

Michael Carrick could return but won’t be able to play the full 90 minutes. While Van Gaal wouldn’t comment as to whether Jones and Schweinsteiger will be fit enough to return.

Predicted XI

The injury to Darmian, will probably see Paddy McNair filling it at right-back with Borthwick-Jackson continuing at left-back.

Ahead of the defence, we expect to see Schneiderlin starting alongside Fellaini once again despite the Belgium being withdrawn against Southampton last weekend.

Ahead of that we may see changes, we believe that Mata may replace fellow Spaniard Herrera. While Adnan Januzaj could be in contention for his first start since returning from his loan spell with Dortmund.
